Cerith snails laying eggs

Any chance I'll have many of these eggs make it to adulthood? They are in my QT which is skimmerless, so I don't have to worry about that taking them out. LiveAquaria says they are "extremely difficult" to breed in captivity, but I've also been told that just about any snail left in a skimmerless tank will likely be successful at breeding.

If there is any chance of them making it to adulthood, does anyone know what kind of timeframe I would be looking at before they might be of tradeable size? I don't have plans to invest tons of time or money into raising them, just wondering what their chances might be. Also, there is nothing in the tank to actively prey on them as of right now, only a frogspawn, hammer, & a couple zoas.

Thanks for your input,
-Kevin

I found a second ribbon of eggs today. I've got pics of the first ones and will try to snap some pics of the new ones today. I'll also try finding the cord so I can get the pics off my camera and upload them if anyone wants to see them.

Does anyone out there have experience with trying to raise these? Would anyone like to give them a try? If they continue laying eggs at this rate I will have plenty of to spread around.

The only snails I have seen consistently breed and reach maturity in my tanks with no effort whatsoever on my part are nassi's. FWIW I have had plenty of ceriths but never saw new or tiny ones.

Thanks David. All experiences are helpful, even ones that tell me not to expect too much. I certainly don't have hopes of becoming a wholesaler on these, just thought I might be able to trade a couple for frags at some point or at least keep me from having to buy as many to keep my tank clean. I've snapped a few more pics and found the cord for my camera, but there's really not too much to look at right now. I plan to keep a record of pics and if I have any success at all I'll post the results.

Just a quick question: Do you know how long it took your nassi's to reach maturity?

Thanks for looking,
-Kevin

edit: m000240 we must have been typing at the same time; I'll try to get pics up in the next day or so.
