When I set-up a planted sump on my previous f/w tank to combat nitrates, one thing necessary for the sump was no surface agitation as the plants didn't like over-oxygenated water.
So, do I have to worry about this with a 50 gallon refugium and chaetomorpha? I have the water coming in from from a 3/4" bulkhead on the back wall about 1" from the top and it does shoot across the surface. It's causing "some" surface agitation. Is that a problem?
Also, does chaetomorpha float or sink? I'm planning on a bare bottom refugium.
