chaetomorpha? High / Low Current?

what does chaetomorpha like, high current (water flow) or low current in the refugium?

Mine seems to do well in either one. Higher flow will help it tumble, so it gets uniform light around it, and helps to keep it free from detritus.

Mine grows faster now that I increased flow.

I like to have my Cheato to tumble it looks better and grows uniform. I use a 1250 Eheim pump to feed sump water to it the only problem I have is when I trim the cheato I have to slow down the flow some or it breaks up and gets in to the return pump strainer.

So, if I have low flow in my refugium by design, should I get in there, shake and flip the Cheato on occasion?

Yes, but if its growing fast enough you'll be harvesting it fairly often anyway.
