Chalk bass eyes swollen

My chalk bass has swollen eyes, seems to be breathing heavy and it's just stationary on the sand bed. Is this something that will pass overtime or is it something that needs to be treated?

Ok it's called pop eye and isn't an infection and can't be spread. It will dissapear on it's own

check the water and start off with keeping the water clean. wetwebmedia has some great stuff on pop eye.
