I was reading an aquarium/fish mag this week and they said that these fish are docile and stay small. I'm upgrading one of my systems and in a month or so when everything settles out, I think it'd be an interesting add. I have shrimp/gobies (2 pairs), 2 small perc clowns, sexy shrimp, and a small clown goby. I was wondering if it'd be ok w/ these other inhabitants. There will be minimal LR, but I will make a few caves w/ it so it has a place to hide out while it gets used to things. TIA.

they will do well, and you can keep them in groups if you want a school. They are primarilly planktavores so they usually leave shrimp alone, but a lg one could and might eat a sexy shrimp.

Thanks for the reply. I read that they shoal/school.. I think that's cool. We'll see what kind of room the tank has left after I add the current list of stuff... I'll actually have 2 50B's linked to the same system so I'm sure one of them will have some room for it/them.

I have a chalk bass. He is one of my favorites. He's very peaceful, and not shy. We joke that he has a binge / purge disorder. He eats so much that he "vomits", then he eats the vomit again. YUM

I had two and they eventually went carpet surfing. My $.02 would be put some netting over the tank or something.

not a problem, I have netting over all my tanks just for that reason. Better to spend $10 on netting and keep all the fish in the tank vs. repacing fish that cost $15+ shipping!

I have to say I had 2 and one was a bully. Not sure when I lost my 2 peppermint shrimp, saw him aggressive against my somewhat large pistol shrimp. Believe he chased out green barred dart goby, pair hifin shrimp gobies, and the other chalkie. Luckily he ended up in overflow so I could take him back. Shame, I kinda liked em.

i have one and it is one of my favorite fish..he is very shy and hangs out in a couple caves but knows when i feed the tank and is right there to get food..i have a hard time spot feeding my corals at night because he seems to be more active at night and steals the food from the corals..but i love the blue color in that fish

I had one but it mysteriously died but it was shy and not agressive and one of my favorite fish
