my chalk eats like a pig too & stays out in the open a lot. even when it's not swimming out in front it is perching on the rock where it can still be seen. it hasn't bothered the other fish or inverts at all from what i've seen.
My chalk bass starts leaping every night when the lights go off. I have no choice but to keep the tank covered with egg crate.
She puts her fins up and looks excited and starts swimming on the surface and keeps splashing the water.
All the other fish follow her around and eat something.
Once she managed to go carper surfing but luckily I was home.
Does anyone else have these issues with chalk basses?
Nope, mine stays in the bottom half most of the time. So far the only fish that jumped out is a Yellow Stripe Maroon Clownfish. Go figure and I've a pair of Jawfish.
