Chalk Goby in a posing mood

That's a pretty unique goby. Can't say I've seen one before. Neat! I like the first shot a lot. Fish was definitely posing for you. That's a nice fully body shot of it. Your glass is exceptionally clean! The lower 1 inch of all my tanks do not look that clean.

I always called mine a 6-spot sleeper goby. Same thing, various names. We had him a year & found him dead one day stuck to the powerhead, big fat belly & all. Is yours always on the move? Ours constantly paced once the light came on until he got fed. He died a year ago. Really hard to take pics of since he was white, but ours was always out front for pics. You did a great job not getting the "white blob" pic LOL.

Wow, never seen that Goby before. Sweet pics/QUOTE]

Thanks both. I see them all the time in my LFS over here, in fact there were two yesterday when I went to pick up my Neon gobies.

Perhaps its the species name I have given to him but in Latin he is a Valenciennea Sexguttata (I believe)

I think the photo was taken in the part where the glass isn't scratched

'Casper' is always sifting the sand and has done since day one. He accepts all and any food too be it flake, pellets, mysid, brine, etc but I would like to set up a live food station and introduce some pods into the tank - my Wrasse is pretty handy at knocking them back though!

I have plenty of those white blob photos of him, that seems to be the case when the lights have a blue hue to them - but as this was morning my Radion was in sunrise mode so had whites, red, and a touch of green in :)

You have the species name correct. Mine was a total pig & ate everything too. I can't post his name here, not family friendly LOL. He earned it after 30 minutes in the tank when I found him in the overflow & spent 30 minutes getting him out! I had never seen one before when I got him 2+ years ago but I see them all the time now. He was a great sifter, but the pacing drove us crazy. What size is your tank? We had ours in the 55 & thought maybe that just wasn't enough room for him.

We don't have much in the way of blue lights in the tank, white & yellow fish are just really hard to take pics of because they reflect so much light. I got some good ones, but yours are better for sure!
