I've got a few (well ok... more like 5 or 6), I wouldn't call it a collection, my point wasn't about what I have but what everyone else has. It's great to see so many different corals that are all equal to or better than some of the stuff being toted as 'limted', that's all.

I'm not too big on taking pics of my stuff and posting it, just not my thing... but I did slip up on another thread which has a pic or 2 of a couple frags :)

Wow! I want a frag of this.

Thanks,

how much do you think a bright red dvd sized aspera would be worth?

looks like the one in this pic....second one from the left

Here's one of mine. Sorry for the blur. Not the best angle, but I didn't want to move it in the tank.

Purple blue w/ pink eyes and red brown streaks. Kinda like a "dessert plate w/ chocolate sauce" :)

Here is an Echinophyllia I've had for 4 years. It was a dark red at the LFS. I put it under my MH's and it bleached. It took a year of being under bright PC lighting to get it's color back. After it finally got it's color back, I accidentally dropped a big chunk of salt creep on it. It was only on the piece for 10 minutes, but the salt creep burnt a hole in the flesh. I could not believe it. It took another 6 months to heal from that ordeal. I then moved it to my 40 gallon prop tank where most of my Echinophyllia are now and I cut it in half. This tank is lit by 2 96 watt PC bulbs.(1 Actinic Blue/1 50/50) I had one half of this Echino up on the rocks and after a bulb change it started to lighten up. So I moved it off to the bottom corner of the tank. This guy has been real sensitive to bright light, but it's strong and has fought hard.

This is what it looks like after 4 years of abuse.

I picked this up from Mark of Fish Heads

I couldn't identify it, but he and someone else called it an Echinomorpha. It doesn't look like one to me.

It kinda looks like an Oxypora to me. Maybe Oxypora crassispinosa.

Very sweet piece Randy. It amazing to me the difference in light that these corals thrive under. Some will only color up with MH lighting and others just fade away with that bright lighting. I have moved most of mine to the bottom areas of my tank now and they are doing great!

hehe...Randy you are such a coral abuser;) That is a sweet piece!

Dan that pink/purple "CD" is beautiful.=)

Keep the pics coming!!!

Comparing Watermelon...

Comparing Watermelon...

I thought it might be interesting to see what people thought about the "Watermelon Chalice" vs. ROAB's "Watermelon Alien Eye". I have my opinion but am curious about what you guys think....

Thx!

Pics don't do justice here...this baby is extremely BRIGHT under the halides ( although on the floor) I have another one about 4x this size that is a blueish green with the same pink on it...I'll post that ASAP once I can color it up a bit and then shoot a better (than this) pic.

Doc

watermelon chalice hands down. The other one looks kinda dual in comparison.

Hehe....mine is tiny compared to yours Doc.=)

Hey Jen..
I actually was able to get mine before Tyree auctioned his first frag. I "hunted down" Ron Johncola and emailed him and pestered him for a week to "PLLLEEEEEZZE" sell me even a tiny frag. He ended up selling me a decent frag for an "undisclosed" price. It came eyeless and rimless but with a helluva lot of pink on it!

Doc

mine did too....no rim, two eyes. Here is a pic of what it used to look like:
