I never will agree with the prices of this stuff, including but not limited to micromussa's,acans, etc. Ya ya, people charge what people are willing to pay. But do you think a junky wouldnt pay 1000 bucks for a hit of smack if it was the only dealer in town and he had cash in hand? It's sooo hard not to go down the list of people known to do this, I dont to avoid business bashing, and lawsuits, but you can find most of em all on frags.org without any trouble ;) Im not trying to brow beat anybody, infact from what Ive gathered you got an average deal for a beautifull coral Fliger. It just makes me ill literally to hear these prices that people are charging us. Especially if you knew what they paid for it, and make there money or most of it back off the first frag. Sorry to be "one of those..." and to go OT, my apologies to the thread starter.

I agree completely. Addiction is ugly no matter what the context really. I don't think the "addiction" part of the trade should be encouraged or embraced as something positive, especially when people are heard complaining about their financial status as a result of their hobby. Threads like this contain many beautiful pictures, but what you witness happening among the hobby culture is actually quite ugly I think.

which is exactly why everyone on here should be willing to cut off a small frag of their echino's for me and send them my way...... ill pay for shipping, you feel good about sharing your amazing corals! works perfectly in my mind!

I personally don't claim that I'm an addict, but I see where you are coming from. If I have the cash and want to drop 1K on a piece of coral, and I want it I will, and have. If someone else wants to buy a frag, that's cool, I'll sell it. But it's up to that individual to judge his/her own money situation before they purchase anything, reguardless if it's a piece of coral, or whether they should eat PB & J at home or go to McD's for dinner. So I think the money part in the person's own fault. Life's not fair, not everyone is rich, or every will be. Some things are out of our league. I'd love to marry a famous blonde celeb, but will that ever happen, no.

Reefers should know the money involved in the first place. I dropped tons of cash on regular indo Acan Lords before the price dropped out of the bottom on them. Am I sorry, no. I had the money, bought them, and still have tons of them and would never even get 10% back out of them for what I paid if I decided to sell them. But I won't sell them. This is my hobby. Cars are some peoples hobby, train, planes and automobiles. I just think a person has to be accountable for thier own action. Yes certain people are on the inside, yes they make tons of money, but this is there livelyhood and business. If someone has a business, it's his/her job to make money to survive, but this is a hobby for me. I agree with you on certain people controlling the market, but just like anything else in life, a person needs to be responsible. One of my favorite corals is a plain own Cat's Paw which I got for free!

I agree Aquaconnect. To me though its as easy as supply & demand. If a coral is amazing and unique, it commands a high price because so many people want it. There are people with lots of money in the hobby - if they want it, they buy it. If someone can't afford it and buys it, well ... shame on them. Same could be said about a sportscar or a shirt. If a coral is amazing and not unique though, its called green star polyps. Then some corals like the Cali Tort start out in a category and get dropped to the second one because its been propped so much. I do feel bad for the folks who invested lots into the Indo Lords though, personally I never really thought the red/green was all that attractive. But thats no different than any hobby, and as AC said, he's happy with them.

hey everyone! Gorgeous photos! I don't have any new ones online. My stupid web host keeps screwing up my gallery, so I need to get the ones I had on here put up again.

But, I did recently downsize to a 20 cube that happens to be dominated by all my chalices now. It looks nice, just a lot smaller than I'm used to.

I still don't have a watermelon!!! Anyone want to help me out? :D

I don't know if I ever posted this pic, but here are 3 of my favorites. This pic is older, I have the Aquascenes and a Tubs and of course my itsie bitsie watermelon but these three started my collection. :) That purple one in the back is WAY nicer in person.

Still waiting for this one to recover and color up. But so far, it looks like it has lots of potential. Pale blue base with neon green eyes.
