jjmcat - does that first one really look like that? Thats a pretty crazy color combination.

It really does.My LFS gets alot of awesome corals in.

That piece is awesome Jjmcat......can't wait to see a pic of it in 6 months to a year. What is the name of the lfs you go to, and do they have a website?

Thank you.It is the second highest priced living item in my tank now.But I am not sure if 50$ was a good deal or not.

here is one I haven't seen yet:
Started as this:

$20 from Dr. Mac.

sorry i don't have a pic - but a question that has likely been answered many times but seeing that this thread is nearly 4 years old maybe there are some new insights

obviously challice corals include at least 3 genera of Pectiniidae (oxypora, echinophyllia, and mycedium) as well as the Faviidae genera echinopora and others maybe???
and because of the small size of most of the LE or otherwise named ones it is very difficult to ID them but i'm wondering has anyone discovered any important differences in care requirements for the different genera or are most/all challices similar in their care making it not really important?

Some updated shots of a couple......

The green rim is a little bit clearer on this piece of the Pastel.

I know this as the "Hollywood Stunner" from fragfarmer...I have also seen it as the "Sweetpeas Chalice" from exoticfrags

I think the hollywood stunner has more of a green body as well. Look up and you will see a good shot of it posted by pjr300.

thanks for helping me figure out its fancy name or names, beacuse it does looke like both depending on which lights are on, the good thing is that whole peice only cost me 70 bux. At night it looks like the frogspawn next to it because all the green eyes glow.

Very nice, is it an Aussie?
