have you tried giving it diffused light?

Well, sort of. The piece in that pic actually stretches pretty far back. So overall that piece gets from high, to diffused, to very little light. The high light side grows the fastest.

I have another chunk that I'm also trying different locations with.

How does it rank in your tank as far as favorite pieces?

I remember when you first acquired it and posted a picture on this thread of it, I almost fell out of my chair when I saw how gorgeous it was...I am pink with envy!

It is one of my favorites by far. And super hardy. Recent alk swings really hurt a few of my chalices. This thing didn't even notice. Plus, I have it sort of in the same line of sight as my Mummy eye, so it makes for a nice color contrast. I'll try to get a pic tonight with the underwater camera.

Peter I do know the first pic is of a Acanthastrea Rotundoflora , very cool piece IMHO and the others definitley look like chalices, the red one is sweet!
