thanks microbubbles :)

Bob, I always enjoy sifting through your shots. Amazing collection! The yellow chalice (7th down) is my favorite.

I bet you don't pay just trade :D...You have an awesome collection that people crave for and that is one advantage of it..

Reeferpnoy ;), I wish...I have paid for 80% of my chalice collection for sure...and mostly the going rate. Jose can vouch for that, Bob, let's see who else, Tyree...etc. I have traded for some pieces, like I said about 20% :D. I have been collecting for the past 3 1/2 years so it has grown little by little over that time. I am currently growing out 28 different chalices in my tank, with four or five new ones on the way in February ;) (all paid for, no trades;)). I have always worried about pests and have been leary of to many trades, sps or lps. But I have done some awesome trades over the years.

Really nice shots Bob. Super sweet macro color swirls. What camera and settings do you use?? +1 on an updated Immolation shot :).

I plan to get some pictures in the next few weeks of some of my stuff I haven't shot for a while. I just need an afternoon to play with the camera and time has been tight. My stuff grows slow and I cut them for folks as well so things never get out of hand in a smaller tank. Warfare can get nasty, lol.

Mark, The Death Maul is really nice. I agree, it was on the charts for a few months then faded to the back seat but it is such a sweet red color. Hey, you know that one from Atlantis...when your Iphone fell in the tank...the one that morphed so much. How is it looking since the last time I saw it??

Yes, the bright magenta one is from the Tropicorium. The color is very bright and the eyes are a glowing yellow.

The Aussie Blue Snakeskin is from Larry (Zeppelin) and is a really unique coral, quite different from the other chalices/echinos/oxys that I have collected.

The golden yellow one is a new one that I recently picked up and I can't wait for it to grow out. The yellow really comes out in brighter light and if I place it in a shadier spot, it turns a dark gold.

Mark, I will shoot the Immolation pic for you soon. I placed it under an overhang near the back of my tank and it is difficult to get to without tearing some of my rockwork and shelving apart. It got stung by another coral and the colors have changed since I placed it in the shade to heal up.

Alicia, I am using a Nikon D300 with a Tamron 90mm macro lens. Most of the shots were between .5 and 2.5 seconds at f/29-f/36. Lighting was 250w MH 14K Phoenix bulbs and 2-Superblue T-5's. Can't wait to see your updated pictures....post them soon!

 That was a funny day, even though it was not funny at the time. That piece is still doing the same thing. It is starting to hold those colors. I plan on raising it for a month and then shading it for a month to get a good idea what it likes.

Bob - Great chalices and photos! Hopefully we can meet up at a MI swap and I can get some more goodies from you!

Beaker wow My wife even say those have kool colors... really an eyecandy..

Peter that red is also a nice piece...

Alicia- post pics of yours as well.. Time to see some old school pieces :D

Just picked up this freshly cut beauty tonight, it cost me one million dollars per eye, so this makes it the most expensive chalice ever at 9,000,000 dollars, paid in pennies haha :D
