Awesome frags guys. Thanks for sharing. How is the mortality rate on those 1 or 2 mouth / eye frags?

I was fortunate enough to win a bigger than quarter sized chalice from my club raffle. It was an uninteresting lump of skinny brown. It has since thickened considerably and formed numerous new light green eyes / mouths. Dark purple is replacing the brown. I am very stoked about the potential for this piece. A side view isn't very interesting. When I get a top down shot I'll post it. It's much easier said than done having limited space above the tank.

LOL....That's how I feel..... I got to stop looking at this thread my list went from 2 more chalices to get now it's more like 10 :eek1:

Is the waiting list the only real way to get the BPC?

The mortality rate is great for 1 or 2 mouth frags. I've cut frags without any mouths and they survived. If they don't have one they'll grow one in a week or two.

Althought the survival rate is higher with a mouth.

Thanks All Delight. I've been apprehensive about one eyed chalice frags because of concerns about their being very fragile / delicate / tempermental and their expense. I've grown sps from 3 or 4 polyp micro frags which have less tissue and mass than a one eyed chalice frag and I'm confident in my ability to do so. I've turned around a receding brown chalice into a growing coloring nicely beauty. I should just take the plunge...

Thanks mott768! It wasn't so much a "find" b/c you just can't find that one for sale much at all. It was a trade that was worked out 5 months prior that was finally concluded.

Underwaterparadise - I waited 5 months for this trade. I had it in my frag display tank and literally everyone asked what it was. And it was in the back corner

I was one of the people that asked about it but I asked the price cause I knew what it was hahahaha. Next time I will have to introduce myself.

Yah survival rate is correct. I used mortality because thats the term the OP used. I didn't want to confuse anyone.

5 months? Thats it? I've been waiting since August 24th (its marked on my calendar), 6 and a half months. Its coming tho.
