I have a new pair of a nigripes one eats well the other spits the food but seems to take pods off the walls and rock in the qt tank. Today I noticed a whitish film on the anal fin of the clown not eating and it occasionally flicks. This is the third day in the tank. I considered a fw dip but have had probs in the past with them and formalin not an option at the moment.
Has anyone seen a natural recovery from brook or are they usually doomed, I have had clowns not eat before for a few days, Today was the first day it at least tried the formula 1.

If you suspect brook, JMO but treat them NOW. I lost my saddles to brook before I realized what I was dealing with; it was quick and nasty.

Id treat them now too. Cant you find formilin? I had a hard time getting it. ended up finding it at a 'jacks pets' you know.. the kind of place that has so many animals none of them are treated properly.

I think a formilin dip is way easier than a fresh dip

Just take 2 gallons of water from your tank, add the drop (or two cant remember) of formilin, add an airstone, and treat them for awhile... I did mine 45 minutes....

If formilins out of the question.. heat up some fresh water same temp as your tank, add ph buffer, or baking soda till the ph matches your tank and dip them for up to 11 minutes (double check that time)

Dip ALL your fish tho. No use just dipping one

reefer... its a disease, it looks like all the skin is peeling off your fish.. its a white mucas its very fatal. you have to dip your fish or the chances of them living are basicly none
