change cup from 9010 to 9005

I am running the 9010 on a 55 gallon sps/lps mix tank. I was wondering if I switched the 9010 collection cup with the 9005 coll cup, would that boost skimmate collection. I just figured the skimmate would not need to rise as high and would be beneficial to a smaller tank like mine. I have the inlet wide-open so the water-level is at its max. I was just wondering if you think the 9005 cup would work better than using the 9010 cup. Oh yeah, there are no fish in this tank, so it doesn't get a lot of food and waste and the bioload is relatively low. I might add a mated pair of flame wrasses, but I've had no fish in it for a couple years and might keep it that way.


also, any updates on the nanostream 6055. I bought one in September, I just want to make sure there hasn't been any recent postponements.

The 9010 has a stronger pump than a 9005 and I think the shorter cup would yield very watery skimmate. The 6055 is on shcedule, the first ones should arrive in late March/early April. Any further delays will be the result of customs and shipping and not production which should start in another week, all the materials to build them are now in stock.
