Changing Tanks?

So I have a 55 gallon almost a year old. Things are good as of recently. Got some decent growth of LPS, zoas, and an acan. A friend wants to give me a 40g breeder, should I try it?

Its not drilled and I do not have a sump currently. I was a freshwater fish guy and the 55g is my first saltwater tank so I use HOB equipment.

I have a 55gal and though many on here find it an awkward shape, I like mine. Yes there could be a little more room front to back, but personally I like the height and find the rocks I have fit nicely.

If it were me, I would only go bigger, especially since you are not gaining anything such as predrilled and the like. Now of course you could just take it and start a new tank...

I'd keep the 55 as a display and as mentioned above with the use of a good Hand on back overflow use the breeder as a sump/refuge!
