im really pondering on finding a new home for my false percs and the nem and getting something different. im kinda pointing to cinnamon(preferred), clarkii's or pink skunks. but i want to ditch the nem totally. i like the idea of them hosting but they never go more then 3" from it and i would really like to see them swim around more.

so i guess what im asking what is your favorite non percula clown?

Even though I currently own a pair of occellaris, i would have to say Maroon clowns are my favorite. I used to own a pair where the female would sleep right on top of the male in the bta when the lights were out. They had a lot of personality to them and kept me more entertained than my purple tang and flame angel did. Sadly I had to give take the aquarium down when i started college four years back.

I currently have both a Clarkii pair and a pair of pink skunks. While I have a soft spot for the Clarki's (( been with me for 9+ years )), I really like my pink skunks. They are fairly vocal, have a great personality and pretty easy going (( as far as clowns go )). Plus, they just starting spawning, which is pretty cool.

Plus, unlike any other clown I have had over the years, my pink skunks have yet to dig up any sand.

anyone have anything to say bout cinnamon clowns? im really digging those? and i dont see many of them

I had one a bunch of years ago, one of the meanest fish I have ever had -- mainly to me. Cool looking fish, but got tired of it always drawing blood anytime I had my hand in the tank, and it loved to move my coral frags around.

wow drew blood!? was the fish the size of a trout?

Think I would be dead if it would have been that big. ;)

But, yes, would grab onto my skin and pull/twist.

I had a few maroons at separate times, both were bought at around 1-2" and grew to about 5". They both would draw blood every time I had my hand in the tank. I didn't even have to be anywhere near her anemone and she'd just attack me like crazy.

I love maroons and loved the fact that they would always host anything, but I will never own one again lol

My maroon is evil. Love her to death, but I can't get my hands in the tank anymore without her biting/ramming me. She's also killed almost all of my corals. I'm pretty much ending up with a hydroid, maroon tank instead of a reef tank.
