Chasdb Starfire 225g economic stimulis build

Thanks Rob, SPS is addicting but tough when you really like the fish too. I'm keeping up on my weekly 25g waterchanges, vacuum the substrate twice a month and clean the neck of my skimmer cup twice a day. That has really helped the tank.

NexDog, I can't give up. My wife knows about the RV8 kit plane I was building in Phoenix and can see the 26' boat in the drive way so I need to show some progress on all my projects.

My ich problem persists since the corals were always kept with some fish even the fish didn't show signs. The corals were returned to the 225 and the qt fish were moved over in groups after treatment and observation. I was having humidity issues in the house with all the tanks and just had to push things along. I don't do hypo any more, takes too long to bring them out IMO if there are any other problems with the fish. I like Cupramamine but realize I will have to live with ich in my display.

Charles definitely has one amazing looking tank. I'm always jealous when I see his tank. Hopefully my tank will look as good as his.

26' footer in the drive way will one day make a great tuna boat hahaha.

Sorry to hear about all your problems. Your tank is still beautiful though my friend. I hope to prevent some future head aches by using a solid coral QT in addition to my fish QT. I've already gone through Monti eating Nudi's and Brookynella in my tank's brief existence.

Hey Charles, you only have 100 lbs of marco rock in your tank? Also, what Marco rock did you get? I know they have different kinds.

I ordered 100 lbs of dry Fiji and requested large pieces. I ended up using 25 lbs of Tonga branch too.

Did they charge you more, for requesting larger pieces? If thats only 100 lbs, thats all I'll need for mine. I just like the size of yours, though.

There wasn't an extra charge but back then there was a long wait. Many were cancelling orders so I may have been just lucky. The large pieces were suprisingly light dry but made my nervous when placing them in the tank. They became much heavier wet and it was a long reach. When you come down feel free to check out the tank, I just got the new Tunze 7096 installed Sun night after sitting on my desk since Wed. Been busy trying to catch up.

Nice, thanks for the offer. If my GF is making the trip, I have the feeling like it'll be there and back. If I can go alone, I have a feeling I can turn it into a reef field trip, lol.

Might be tough to estimate, but what do you think those 100 lbs of dry rock turned into... 200 lbs?
