Okay so I had a frag in my fuge that I forgot about so I stuck it back in my display tank and now I have purple and green algea lookin stuff starting all over in my tank. Is there any fish or snail that willl eat this or should I just keep picking it off the rocks?
Ill post a picture when I'm on my computer. That's odd because I have cheato in my fuge and some of it adhears to the rocks I have. Its all stringy and bubbly
It shouldn't grow into the rocks, but it definitely will "catch" the rock edges if it moves around in the water. If it is chaeto, you should just be able to grab it and put it back in the fuge.
based on your description of purple algae that looks like chaeto, I think you have red turf algae. Grows incredibly quick, but after a month or so with a mexican turbo snail it'll all be gone.
