Cheato turning white

I have had my fuge running for about a year now and my baseball sized chunk of cheato that I orgionally bought is now about basketball sized and growing great, I did just notice though that on the top there is a section that is turning white. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I should do about it?

Its starting to die or turn a-sexual.I thought that chheato doesn't turn a- sexual.I use calerpa and when it turns white it meanns its dying.You may want to add iron for the cheato.I add some once a week.I don't know what else to tell you since I don't have cheato.I do know if its turning white its starting to die if it has the same reaction as calerpa.Do you see it being brittle and falling apart?Is your cheato green and stringy like?If so I have had that type wich died on me.I didn't have the brown type.

My Cheato is green and stringy, Its just a small patch on the top that is turning white. I have really messed with it much to see how brittle it is. I'll probubly start by pulling out the parts that are white and see what happens next.

I had the same kind.Its starting to die.Like I said I know that calerpa turns a-sexual.Turns white and start to die.This has happened to me a few times with calerpa.I had the same one you had and it died.The cheato is less seseptable to turning a-sex.I am using the kent super chelated iron.I add it as directed.
