Check out the size of this mantis shrimp

Hi all
There was an article in the Florida Today newspaper down here about a hugh mantis that was caught recently in the Sebastian inlet. It is about the same size I saw some catch there about a year ago or so. Here is the link:

Actually, if it is really 10 inches, that is quite large for Lysiosquilla scabricauda. The largest record that I know of is 275mm, just under 11 inches. This is the largest Lysiosquillid in the Atlantic, but doesn't come close to Lysiosquillina maculata in the Pacific that can reach 16 inches.
