I just got this amazingly huge squamosa from a friend (Scott Noack aka plankton) a couple of days ago. When it was first bought by a the original keeper it was 3" 10 years ago.

Man when the mantle is expanded it is about 19" end to end and about a foot front to back. It sure takes up a lot of space. For measure in the pic the tank is 2 feet wide:

That is one huge clam. My squamosa is growing pretty fast as well, but not that big yet. Love the blue rim, never seen a squammy with that coloration.

Thanks for sharing:)

Bill,

You're right about cleaning up. This clam can really squirt. I'll need to set it up in a deeper tank soon because it is able to shoot a lot of water out of the tank. It's a good thing that the pendant has a cover preventing the MH bulb from getting splashed LOL.

dang john, you've been getting all these scores lately. i thought my 14" gigas was big.... but that sucker makes mine look small. lol

Bruddah yeah I'm still amazed at its size.

That's what I thought. I've also never seen a blue rim making this acquisition even sweeter :D

My camera sux and I have found taking photos of my clams to be damn near impossible so here is the best photo I currently have of my squamosa that has similar colouration. Although mine is only a mere 5".
