Does anyonw know where to get this yet. I love chemi-pure and can't wait to try the new elite. I saw an add for it in my fish magazine. It removes phosphates and silica in addition the the reg. product.

Here is a description:

Chemi-Pure Elite is a precise formula for use with either fresh, reef, and marine aquariums as a chemical absorption filter, ion generator and exchange unit, which positively keeps the pH at a constant level. Ammonia and nitrate scavenging formula removes cooper metal, phosphates, ions, odors, all pollution, gasses, carbon dioxide, and color from aquarium water. Chemi-Pure quickly buffers pH harmlessly and without any shock to the fish.

Newly collected marines or fishes from old water may be transferred to Chemi-Pure filtered water without harm as this remarkable formula neutralizes the fright and shock systems of fishes. Chemi-Pure Elite formula now contains Ferric oxide, which helps remove red slime and PO4 (phosphates from the water, giving your coral and fish a healthy environment to grow and live. Packaged in a sealed nylon filter bag.

hmm no I havent heard of it. I used to use Chemipure but at some point got a little concerned about its removal of "ions". There are lots of ions in saltwater, pretty much what makes it saltwater. Which ones does it remove? Are they ones we want removed? Are they things like iodine, magnesium, calcium etc that we dont want removed? Well, you get the idea. Water changes and Randy's 3 part additive seem to make the most $$$ sense to me. FWIW, I do also use phosban/pura phos or whatever is cheapest for phosphates.

I have used chemi-pure since the beginning and I like it. I will be looking for the new formula. My opinion on this is not really legit though because I have never gone without to see if things are better with regular carbon. Things are good with it though.

Have always used Chemi-pure, a great product. Don't know if I would like to take rowa-phos, purigen and chemi-pure and make it one product?

Sort of like sound systems, separates always sound better..

If this new elite product does what it says it does then it sounds like I could get rid of my phosban and purigen as well. Although I do see the point of maybe having separate products because I don't always use all three items...I know I like phosban because shortly after beginning use my p04 was undetectable. My skimmer was messing up so I threw in the purigen to help out but it is no longer in the tank because the skimmer is working again. On second thought maybe I do like them separate...
