Chemi-Pure: Described as a chemical absorption filter. Does it affect reef dosing? Same applied to the Phos-Zorb?

Does the reef benefit from their use? Add in filtering? I remember Upstatedave @ the last meeting stated he used Chemi-Pure, I also over heard him explaining a down side or draw back he experienced? I forgot tho:( I could be wrong? Sorry Dave if i am. Was awhile ago now...

that was chemi clean...used for the removal of cyano....it kills all the pods....and didn't work very well either....I haven't used chemi pure....and haven't heard anything negative about it

I 'think' that I had heard somewhere that chemi-pure can reduce your ORP...anyone know if thats true?

Otherwise, I've used in the past, but still prefer a good quality carbon.

ya chemi clean has some more abvious draw backs. i use chemi pure and have nothing really bad to say about it. in my experience it does far more good than bad as it has always saved me when i have to postpone water changes for a week or so.

I've used both products as well as Metal-B-Gon and Phosguard (Seachem). THey all work well in conjunction with each other.
