ChemiPure

I bought ChemiPure and it is already packed in a filter bag. My question is: can just drop it in sump or it has to be placed in canister or any other type of filter? My Magnum350 already filled and running with other chemical media.

Resins and carbon attract particles to it so water doesn't need to flow through it. You can just drop it in your sump. And a canister works as well. Either or. I'm sure you know to rinse it first.

Thanks Mike, I hope this will work. I am battling brown algae outbreak, it covers most of my sand bed and grows on rocks too. I hate it.

Let me share some pictures of my tank when it was new:

Notice the patches that have been cleaned. Can you see them?

wow! nice clean up job :)
my algae is not a diatoms. It is more like brown carpet, with clearly identifiable fibers. Do you know what it might be or how to get rid of it?

Thanks, I'll read up on dinoflagelates then :)

offtopic: what do you fly? I am myself PPASEL-IA :)

Read the directions on the Chemi-Pure, I don't think you need to rinse it. I use 2 units in my tank I change them out every 4 weeks.

Regards,

Pat
