Little story to share and maybe it helps someone.
So last week I picked up a tiny Chevron Tang at my LFS that had been their for ~ 4 weeks and was on sale. I had watched the fish over the last four weeks and new it was a little warrior. It came in in very rough shape; thin as a piece of paper; had flukes & MHLLE.
My LFS is very good and treated the little guy for flukes and he responded to treatment. Then he got ick; which again he was treated for and appeared on the road to recovery. Was eating and coming around. It also appeared that the MHLLE was getting better. So at this time I decided to take a chance.
I got him home and saw him eat the first night. After then I had trouble seeing him eat at all and looked like he might be taking a turn for the worse, i.e., not eating. Was trying flakes; brine shrimp; Limpets; nori sheets; etc. didn't want to eat anything.
So yesterday I called my LFS and they said that they had been feeding brine and spirulina brine. So I ran to the store and got some spirulina brine and what do you know the little guy only likes spirulina. Ate with a passion.
Not sure if anyone else has had this experience with a tang?
Also this is my first experience with MHLLE. Does anyone know how long it takes to clear up? I'm feeding all food with Selcon which I've read can help with MHLLE.
