Chevron tang loosing color in cheeks and face

New tank, cycled with dry rock, pure ammonia, and biospira. Added two small gobies and a pistol shrimp after 8 days (cycle took 5) on day 15 I added a trio of tangs: purple chevron, mimic. All eating nori, Mysis, marine cuisine, and pellets soaked in selcon for a week, also eating dr. Gs anti parasite and anti bacterial.
Had the tangs a total of 8 days. All tangs were treated with copper for over a week in my LFS and given a freshwater dip before going in the display. They are all hanging out and shoaling together and I see little signs of aggression. The chevron delveloped slight discoloration in the cheeks yesterday, and today the discoloration looks like it is spreading and getting whiter. He is still eating well.

Thoughts on what this might be? Recommend a hospital tank? I have metroplex, kanaplex, sulfaplex, Praxzipro, and cupramine on standby.

Not running copper or carbon. Just a skimmer (dialing in and skimming wet) and filter socks. Nitrate is 5ppm and phosphate is 0.025. Alk7.6, ca 380, mg 1360. Sg 1.025. Temp 78f, it's a rimless reefer 525xl so it's getting plenty of evaporative cooling and temp stays pretty stable.

You said it previously was treated with copper. Its an outcome of that.

Thanks, will post progress photos he's still eating well and hasn't had a noticeable change in appearance yesterday.

I think it’s a bad idea to add any tangs to a newly established tank. They really benefit from being able to pick off of the rocks and with your tank they don’t have that ability. Doesn’t really look like HLLE to me though.

Progress update from today, still eating well, nori, Julian springs mix, and red veggies, mysis, marine cuisine, and squid soaked in selcon. Spots above the eyes are no longer present but the right cheek looks more pronounced.

I thought this might be flukes, so I gave him a 8 min freshwater bath on 5/6. I didn't see anything fall off. Here are some photos from tonight 5/10.

5/18 update, seems to be clearing up. There was some evidence of bullying with a nipped fin last week that is mostly grown back. Everyone is still eating well, diatoms are clearing out water clarity is up. I'm doing 20% water changes every two weeks. The little purple tang is becoming the boss.

Very normal.... this fish changes colour as it matures.
Only has those great colours as a juvenile.
