I had northbay looking for me for about a month and a half. Finally found a nice 3-4" specimen...absolutely stunning! I gave him a freshwater dip before adding him, but he somehow got ick anyway. I don't know if I want to let my sterilizer take care of it this time because he's not established yet. Any suggestions?

yeah, a mimic tang almost the same size. But he's ich free. The last time I added a new tang ( was a baby hippo) he got ich worse than I've ever seen before....but the mimic was pest free?

Jake,
When I upgraded to the 120 my Coral beauty and Blue tang got ick from stress, the same with another tank Steve Ruddy and i moved. The other tank move most of the fish got it. it was from the stress of the move. We did nothing both times and after 3-5 days it just fell off and never came back. Sounds like your Chevron has move stress.

After having my Chevron for more than a year I added another new tang. The new tang did not get ick, the Chevron did. They seem pretty susceptible. It went away by itself but i suppose still present in the tank.

Keep the water quality in your tank at a high level and your fishes will almost always recover from ick. Running a UV will also help alot if your fishes are sick.

James- ya, I know. I was using my frag tank as a quarentine tank too, but I just had someone rent out my extra room so it had to go. I dipped him though.

well, he finally croaked. came home from work to find all my crabbies feasting : ( It's weird that only that fish got ich. I put a cleaner wrasse in to help out...which he did....but a little late I guess.

James- I might wanna pick up one of your chevron's, but alas the pocket book is empty : (
