Cheyenne based reefclub

I think it is a great idea to advertise a little. The stores should be happy to do it, and maybe they would be willing to host a meeting or two. That is good business for them too.

I wish I knew some of you were coming down for the DARC swap, I was there too.
 
I came down...didn't get anything from the frag swap, although I'm kicking myself for not getting any of the Purple Dragonfly zoas from 12gallonbaby. I did wind up getting som CUC from AquaMart for my nano. My fiancee had to work that weekend, but if he had been there, I'm sure there would have been much more money spent, both at AquaMart and the frag swap!

Great idea. It seems the last 2 weekends I have spent in Greeley or Ft Collins for my reefing needs. And like you said it's not just us 4 or 5. And while at Animal Attractions (Greeley) today the guy behind the counter said that folks from Wyoming (or out of town I would assume) get a 10% discount so they must get quite a few people from these parts. I would love to get some frag swaps going (not that I have any to frag) but still...my 125 is almost ready to stock :D and also seeing others tanks and learning other techniques without driving an hour would be awesome.

Lief, I had every intention of going but there was a good deal on live rock so I went that route instead:rolleyes:
 
Yep, I'm in Laramie. I don't know of anybody else here in Laramie in the reef hobby, though. I'm betting there are others, just don't know of any. When you're ready to start stocking that 125, LMK...I have a frogspawn that needs a trim, a green stylophora and an unknown blue-purple acro we've fragged. Might be able to get a small toadstool leather out, and I've got some zoas that I could frag as well. None of my really good stuff (ORA Red Planet, Hawkin's Echinata) is big enough to frag yet, but I'm hoping they're going to start taking off here soon!
 
Today i went to Aquatic treasures and found out, they are going out of bussiness !! did you know that? It's kinda sad we don't have nothing but Petco right now in town...
 
I kinda saw that coming. It's a tough business. and I know they got burned a couple times on fish shipments that came in frozen, which sucked for us because they stopped ordering fish in the winter and why go there if they're not going to stock anything? We used to go there all the time until they didn't have anything in their tanks.

Good news is jgonzz is branching out to include fish so now not only can you get great corals but fish too.

Eaton, I believe, one of the suburbs around Greeley :D. It's out of his home. I saw the setup before he had water in it, but that was about a month ago so he should have everything up and running, waiting for the cycle to finish. He says he's going to offer great deals on fish. So definitely call him and go check it out. If there’s a fish you want he can special order it. If you haven't seen his frag tank you should definitely go just for that. But bring some money because you’re going to want to buy something. :D

when are we going to get together?
