Anyone know what a good one for a 30g tank would be?
Our AC is down for the count right now, so my tank is hurting!

Just wondering what a descent one would be and if anyone here has one for sale! Or know a good place to find one.

Thanks ~

Cant help you with the chiller but can make a few suggestions.

I just had that happen to me on my tank last Monday. Get a fan first of all and then make ice cubes with your ro/di water. Ocne the ice is made, you can drop a small cube into the sump area ever once in awhile to help cool it down. I was abld to keep my tank at 81 degrees when the outsidd temp was 105 and the house was 86.

Bags of ice might have to work for now. I've been trying to freeze water bottles and use them but I don't have very many right now.

I've saved all the freezer packs that came with livestock shipments, put them in ziplock bags with a bit of water and you can swap them out. Stays cold for a longer time and doesn't take up as much room in the freezer.

I have a 34 gallon tank and my room gets all the way into the low nineties. I only get a two degree swing in tank temp if I stay on top of it.

Good luck!

just a headsup, If you are going to use bags of ice from the store, I would buy
large clear bags and put the store bought ice bag complete in the clear bag and let it float so none of the ice water gets into your tank, you don't want to dump the bags from the store in your sump, most of the store ice is tap water and has chloramines!

I really like the frozen water bottle idea. I can then drop on in the path from my skimmer chamber on the way to the return. All the water then runs over the frozen bottle and will create more of a flow of colder water. Floating bags in the tank itself isn't bad, just getting colder water moving is better.
