CHiller Questions

Charles - Just put a fan (s) across the top of the tank and a water make-up controller on it and you're set.

Chillers are expensive to buy, expensive to run and will generate lots of heat in the room your place it (unless you plumb the chiller outside).

I was contemplating between adding another fan on my tank.. its just a hassel everytime having to make new water for top off. I don't have my RODI plummed to the house yet as I am awaiting to replumb the house with copper piping. ( repipe specialist ? ).

I don't have space either for a resvoir or don't want to add more weight to the living room.

That is why I was looking at chillers. I'll keep you guys updated wether replacing the seios with less power consuming PH's in the Hydors would make a differnce in temps when combined with adding another fan or 2.

I just bought a prime tower. I was going to go with a seachill, but I couldn't justify the extra 250 bucks. :D

Thales how much was the prime ? Where do you have it hooked up, in a living room or bed room? Is it creating a lot of heat in the room ????? Please give me as much info as possible

I got it from Foster and Smith on sale. 525 I think. Its not here yet, but it will be installed outside in a weather proof box of its own. :D

I have a Prime Tower 1/3hp. I bought the original in April or 2006. Since that time I have had to return it twice each had exactly the same problem. The digital temperature on the chiller reads 122 degrees. I have external thermometers that are reading correctly. I bought an external temperature controller (retailing at $179.00) and the chiller worked fine until yesterday now I get an error code P2. I have tried to reset it by unplugging it and I have tried to recalibrate but the chiller does not react. Based on my personal experience I would not recommend this chiller to anyone. Although when it worked it was very consistent.

Do you folks put the actual chiller outside... that bad boy is going to be heating up your house while it chills the tank.

I love havin fans... gotta get the evaporation to make room for lime-water.
