Another thing I noticed about the dimming... The white and blue channels shut off at 10% (like most Meanwell drivers). The moonlights seem to operate from 10 to 0 though, so the blues end up looking like they can dim to 0%.

Does "pink effect" change the wavelength?

Does "pink effect" change the wavelength?

Hey guys, I've been trying to add more spectrum into my LED build and was looking into this: 3W UV 420nm-435nm with pink effect

Does anyone have a clue as to what this "pink effect" is? I'm thinking it may just be a tint to the lens? If so, will it effect the wavelength at all? The specs do state 420-435nm which is what I want. All I'm concerned about is adding the spectrum for coral pigment rather than the what color my tank will look.

Any insight is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Maybe they are still using analog dimming. Analog dimmimg will have the downside that it shifts the leds color output as they dim

excellent pics bhazard!

I was wondering if anyone can point me to a thread or webpage that shows what each color temperature looks like? (ex: 12k looks like this: etc)

For this light, and since you have tried it out. What colors would you use in it? I like the 18 K look Would you change any of the colors that is in yours?

I like the Neutral and Warm Whites used. The only changes I would possibly make, are removing the cool whites, adding 2-3 reds, and maybe changing from 6 470nm blues to 4. 18k would probably need a few more RB than what I have.

Well I went through a lot of this Thread......so tell me where I can purchase (3) Evergrow IT2040 lights for my 180?

ok, crazy amount of info..

I have a taotronics now over one of my frag tanks, but was wanting a new dimmable one for my other frag tank. I like the 250w 14k phoenix se halide look i have over my last frag tank.

What d120 should i get?????? I know there are a bunch of slightly different options, but would love the TOP 2 or 3 to narrow it down..

In your mind, are the new lights worth the additional $110? The dimming lights are purely for aesthetics, correct?

It is more than just automatic dimming that was added. The aluminum heatsink and adjustable hanging kit are worth ~$50 alone. The ability to plug one light into another, and power both through one cord is also a rare feature. An automatic sunrise/sunset controller usually costs $50-80 on top of that, and you usually need to do the wiring on those, or you would need an Apex. Moonlights are also a nice feature that add ~$20 to the cost of a build. The remote control is icing on the cake. I can change the light from across the room.

If you don't need or want those features. The leds are the same that would be used in the D120.

Thanks; I've contacted them....my MH's are in need of a bulb change and have approval from the wife to pull the trigger on LED's!

One question; does the fixture controller have timers on it for dawn, full sun, dusk and moon? Thank you for your review it was VERY helpful

The custom mode has a full sunrise/sunset schedule pre-programmed, and you can edit the brightness every half hour. By default, the light will start at dawn, reach 100% for a few hours mid day, lower for dusk, kick in moonlights at night, and shut everything off after 1am-2am ish.

The only thing it doesn't do as of now is ramp up or down. It only changes the brightness when it reaches every half hour/hour.

Thanks again; looks like a perfect fixture for the money. I hope they contact me soon as the money is burning a hole in my pocket!

So in what increments does it dim?

In manual mode, it dims every 1-2 increments from 1 to 100. The white and blue channels shut off at 10, and the moonlight takes over from 10 to 0.

I haven't tried editing the custom mode yet, but i would assume you could edit each 1% increment.
