chinese led lights

Evergrow will provide you spare LEDs by request.

Otherwise, any bridgelux led with the same footprint can be used. I got them from a site I can't mention here, cause reef central hates them for some reason.

EBay bridgelux LEDs would work too.

I have seen enough DIY cree led fixtures in person to know that they will grow sps well.
I haven't seen that these d120's have been in use for very long.
I have a 90 gallon (24"tall and 48"wide). Will 2 of these d120 fixtures actually grow sps as well as 2 diy cree leds (72 bulbs) or as well as 7 or 8 t5ho's?

I took PAR readings of the new "d120" with controller and my DIY 180w Cree a few pages back. The D120 produces plenty of PAR to grow SPS, and the Cree is sweet overkill. 2 d120s having 110 LEDs will match 72 Crees easily. Crees are only around 30% more efficient unless you overdrive them.

BHazard,

What do you have for the dimensions of the it120?

I'm trying to figure out if I need 6 to cover a 72*36*27h fully.
Ordered 5. I might pickup a few more.

Is there a model or family of the Bridgelux LEDs you found to be best replacements

I don't know what version your new fixtures are but would these (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free...ED-aquarium-light-with-63B-56W/587062331.html) be about the same par with the colors shown in the picture?

I also plan on supplementing them with 2 54w t5ho's. Do you have any suggestions of a better color ratio along with the t5ho's for growth and color?

Can anyone vouch for longevity of these d120 units?

The d120 uses the same drivers as the new light. The par would be around the same. I haven't used t5s with them, but it would be the best of both worlds and should work great.

A lot of people have ordered them before, so they can chime in on longevity. They've been rock solid for me, never an issue.

I'm in contact with Sunny. I'm going to order 3x of the IT2040. I am thinking of replacing 3,3 and 9,3 with red LEDS.

I'm still unsure of the 420's. I asked for additional blues as spares. I may replace them with those depending on how blue it turns out. I like a 14k to 16k look.

I have a 1 watt LED light already on my tank. It is a 120watt 1:1 blue to every white. I am going to upgrade to 3 watt leds, most likely the D120. I want to pick and chose what LEDs I will get, but I don't know for sure which color LEDs to use. If I had not looked at this thread I would just upgrade to using 2 blues to 1 white 10K. I now know a little more but am still not an expert for sure.

This thread is great, but if anyone had links to articles on LEDs or websites that go into choosing which Kelvin LEDs to mix and match and know what the corals need for good growth and color please share if you know of any.

I hate to keep on asking questions when the answer may be 4 pages back. I'm sure others would benefit from it too.

What is the difference between the D120 and the IT120? Im currently getting a quote and the salesperson is telling me that the IT120 is the latest model. Is that the only difference as far as you guys know?

Also Helen, the sales rep, is telling me that I need a minimum order quantity of 12 units?? Who are you guys ordering from where you can purchase smaller quantities? T

I can't pm anymore because the mods shut them off for me because I mentioned where I get some of my leds, because they have a problem with this seller. It's their problem, I don't see why I need to be penalized for it. Pretty low on their part, since it will only hurt people who want questions answered. I wouldn't be surprised if they disable me soon.

That's not completely true, you were advised a site was not welcome on here just a few days ago, yet you continued to circumvent filters to direct people there.

You have to take your conversations completely offline like I suggested a few pages back. PMs are available for mods to read. They are NOT completely private.

I'm not sure where you got your info but its pretty obvious they have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. We have absolutely ZERO ability (nor desire) to read PMs unless they are reported. The function doesn't exist.

Now, I suggest everybody move along and bring this thread back on topic.

Thank you,
-Dino

Julie,

The IT120 has a built in controller that can dim the lights up and down based on a schedule you input. It also has moonlights.

Price information for IT-2040

Price information for IT-2040

They are selling new light system for $315 shipped and $294 for RC member.
I think 75% price increase compare to D120 is kind too much. I need 3 lights for my 125G and that's $900. I wounder if they sell unit without controller and I can hook up 1 one with controller and 2 without. With thier single current international output port, you can only add one more light to the system since they have only one port.

It's all about having a controller and moonlights. Considering a controller like the DIM4 normally runs around $80, and a full heatsink was added, the price increase makes sense.

The d120 is still great as a no frills light. If you have no desire for auto dimming or moonlights, it will light a tank just as well for less $.

Thats a good point..

If Evergrow could add a port jack on the side of each light that would allow one controller to run multiple lights via PWM that would be neat. It might
be able to allow an external source to control the light via PWM as long
as they stick to the standards.
