Which fans did you use?

Cooler Master 80mm Dual Ball Bearing Case Fan. I got them for 5 bucks a piece, but any 80mm case fan will work... There are quietier fans, but these aren't bad. They are audible, but at a comfortable frequency. Kinda drowns out the water noise. Much much muuuuuuuuuch quieter than the stock fans.

Hey guys looking to make the plunge soon, read through this whole thread and looks like people who have the TaoTronics are pleased. Found these http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Style-Cho...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item48425c9279 and they look exactly the same and the specs are the same they are $2 more but free shipping. Looking to get 2 for my 75 gallon. Any thoughts?

Two of the fixtures should give you enough light. However there dimensions are roughly 15" X 8" so the light spread with just two unita might be difficult to balance throughout the tank.

Idealy I would get 4 units based on there dimensions for equal light distribution on a tank 48" long. However that would be way too bright for a 75 gallon tank.

Ok so I emailed the guy at reefcatalystled.com about fixtures for my 20L, in the mean time does anyone else have any input on a budget friendly led system that I could use?

A aquastyle 36 led dimmable kit would be perfect for you 20gL. I have a 20L and i have a diy 24 cree leds and it covers the whole tank no problem. But since aquastyle has bridgelux leds, i'd go for the 36 led kit. Just make a heatsink with U channels.

hows everyones leds going? any updates for us curious buyers?

I have got the 120 watt dimmable fixtures, and I am having no problems with growth. I only have a couple sps and they have completely encrusted their plugs since I got them...I have no worries about them supporting my tank!

Do you have them at 100% or do you have them dialed down a bit?

Hey guys, I was hoping you could help me out. I am new to LEDs still but I have been reading through a couple pages from this thread. I have been trying to find a budget friendly LED system for my 20g long (30"Lx12"w). I have been looking at the eshinesystems LEDs and the only one that I could find to have this kind of spread is the 4G-1 48x3W cree led aquarium light. Suspended at 20", I will get a spread of 29"x13". This is the best I found, but it seems like it would be a bit of an over kill. Right now I have a couple acros and a monti but mainly LPS and zoanthids (I'm not very good at the whole sps thing) but would like to get a fixture that could still grow them down the road if I still change my mind. Thank you in advance, and happy reefing!
Tony

You need 1 unit get a unit without optics (120 degree lens) that will spread the light more... Once you get it you can adjust height... That size tank you'll have it like 6"-8" off the water.. probably Skip eshine and get a standard 120w unit (48x3w, 55x2w) there at ebay for like $175 free shipping...
