Same lights and closer to California for you. The owner used to work on corporate jets with me years ago, then left to start a business. We have an area facebook group and he is always helping people out, often driving to their houses to lend his time and support. He just started selling these about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Several people that have bought them are very happy. They are more expensive than the novas or d120s but they use Cree 3w and 5w LEDs and have a lot of programmable features including a remote control to adjust lighting. The guys name is Randy and he will take care of all warranty work (if needed) without shipping the units to China.
So buazzard.. Oops orry for spelling. iPhone is a pain. Aappollo or nova. Which one u like best?
anI picked up the same model light you are referencing yesterday and set it ontop of by BC29. I only had them change the whites to all nuetral and that was the only customization I had done and it was $227 shipped with a leg kit.
Ill give you my novice first impression:
-The leg kit is not going to win any prizes for aesthetics, but it works and is adjustable (and only $10 extra).
-I do agree that the power switches could be a little better thought out as mentioned in other posts but I have not automated anything in my tank yet and I dont think its a deal breaker.
-The moonlights are stronger than I expected. Im not sure they give a realistic "moon-lit" look. Maybe a dimmer for these too?
-The dimmers do 'click' off when turned all the way counter clockwise. So if you didnt like the red, green or violet you can turn it off completely.
-I did get some disco ball effect on the sandbed with the red and green lights on.
-I really liked the shimmer!!
-The adjustablilty between dark windex blue and yellowy-white are there to suit your liking.
I wish I had more colors in my tank to reference but I'm letting everything settle a bit more before I start adding corals.
I look back on this review and it almost sounds like I am giving it a negative review. I want to be clear that after day one I am very happy with the purchase:bigeyes: I guess I pointed out some things that I wasnt expecting.
I am very excited about this and after day one would do it again!
This is a little more info they emailed me on the light i purchased thisMore information of led:
1) Power: 120W
5) Lumens:2420lm
Are you sure about those lumens? Are you perhaps missing a digit? A 23 watt typical fluorescent bulb emits 1500+ lumens and a 250w halide emits something like 23,000 lumens.
