Glad you posted this pic OSI, thanks. Notice how the led chip is off center.. The Evergrow D120s are very noticeably this way and not all of them, some worse than others. Is this a quality issue? Are all bridgelux leds this way? Will it reduce efficiency and effectiveness?

The optic can change the the "appearance" of the led placement. If the picture was taken even 1 degree off center axis the led can look distorted.

Ok final design, I think this should wreak perfection ;)

As always, any input is appreciated.

As with any untested custom ratio, you won't know until you see it.

Is this for your own DIY build? I'm not sure there is a chinese fixture with 3 channels where the 3rd channel is more than just 3 leds of rb moonlights.

This looks pretty awesome! What company do you plan on using for this unit? I would be very interested in getting something like this as well, depending on the price.

Well it's kinda both, I am going to wait first off to see Ever's new light and then if I like it customize as close to this model I have done up. Worst case I will get a plug and play with 2 dimmers rewire it a little to add the third and mess with placement if needed. Is this sound thinking or am I crazy? ;)

My Intention is to see how close Evergrow's new fixture is to my plan and if it works out, great. If not I will most likely attempt my first DIY led lighting fixture ( well two ;). )

If I can get the setup as pictured above for around 175-250USD each even of I have to do some minor tweaks is about what I'm looking for. No idea of cost for full DIY, kinda curious though :-/

I have been a member for a while and usually get my answers just be reading and figuring out my problems. I hate to ask stupid questions. But I have read every page of this thread and still don't know what to order.
I have a 29 gallon tank, not a cube, and have decided to order these lights. I had a 175 MH but sick of the heat and buying new bulbs. I have everything from sps to a clam. I want the colors to pop. Adding violets, greens and reds seem like a cool thing but am kind of worried about algae. After having these what would you recommend.
I think this is the one I want but just making sure.

I wouldn't worry about algae too much on those units Denny. That is the colors I have and no algae problems from it what so ever. Only negative is that the whites are a little too cool, resulting in me having to turn the blue channels way down. You might wanna get some warm or neutral whites in there rather than the reg cool whites.

What does everyone do for moonlights with these also?
I will email him and see about getting one with 2 less reds and add some warm yellows.

I think you would want the reds there, replace cool white with warm white or neutral white. As for moon lights, I tried dimming the blues down to minimum and they are WAY too strong. Corals look like some 60's Jefferson Airplane video. I am gonna go out one day and just get a cheap 5x1w strip or something and just leave it on. There are also 3 channel lights from the same place that have just 2 or 3 blues on the 3rd channel, not sure how well it works though.

These would work well as moonlights, same type led as stunners and with an inline dimmer it can work like magic ;)

Just use 1w blue leds for your moonlights instead of the normal 3w. That should help the brightness issue.
