chinese leds

Ok looks like we have the min order if everyone gets what they say they want. That never happens so we really need a few more units. So far...

Mjntwise 2 d120
Djsmallz 1 ?
Acabgd. 1. ?
Vtxrobert 1. D120
Ralvarez. 2 ?
Jmifland. 2. ?
Tobey ? ?
Zero bull chip 1. D120
Mlivvy. 1. IT2060 or 2080?

Ok so start thinking about the layout u want. Either custom layout of stock layout.

Ayone have suggestions on a custom layout? I am shopping for a fixture for my 60 cube build. I am an ORCA member but would love to get on board for this group buy. Im just south of Leesburg so its not a bad drive at all for me!

i would purchase 1 if you let me in on the group buy!

I am in for 3 it240's 3 * $245 = $735

My goal: Replace my MH. I only have a couple fish and lots of LPS and Anenomes. I like the LED programmable feature. I do not think I will enter the world of SPS in the near future.

However, I have a couple of questions before I commit:

(I'm new to LED terminology so the descriptions were not entirely clear to me. I have a 150G 72X28X18. I would like to have just 3 units (1 for each open section on the top of my tank)

1. What is the difference between it2040, it2060, it2080 and A6?
2. What is the advantage/purpose of "customization for $10"?
3. How would I mount these? DIY?
4. Why are "optics important?
5. Are there 2 options to select from?

120w with Bridgelux leds: 55x3w
3 Control Mode:
Dimmer 1: 24 blue leds
Dimmer 2: 28 white leds
Dimmer 3: 3 blue moonlights

OR

120w with CREE leds: 40x3w
3 Control Mode:
Dimmer 1: 17 blue leds
Dimmer 2: 20 white leds
Dimmer 3: 3 blue moonlights

Advantages/Disadvantages?

Thanks for your time!!

i am also having trouble matching part numbers to item descriptions on the alibaba site. Explanations appreciated form anyone with experience with these products!

I would like to get two D120 fixtures with stock layout and 120 degree optics. I already have the money in my paypal to send to you when everyone is ready.

Do you happen to know how long it will take to get them all delivered?

As of right now I have the money for a single it2040 fixture. I need to purchase 2 of these fixtures for the 90 gallon aquarium that I am setting up. Depending on when the group buy actually goes through will determine if I can get a single unit or get the two that I need. So as of now you can write me down for one it2040.

Unless someone has a better idea for lighting a 90 gallon aquarium.

I do have a Digital Aquatics controller. Would that allow me to dim the D120 which I assume is the same fixture as the it2040 but doesn't come with the controller and lcd screen?

I ordered 2 D120 units in the last group buy for my 90 I just set up and they are awesome. As for the dimming part, one of my next projects is to try and rewire the manual pots with digital pots to control via an ALC module on a RKE.

Will do my best to answer ur ?'s

1 difference is length and how many LEDs per fixture. Best thing is to do a google search on each unit to get specs.
2. Customizing allows u to get the exact look u want by having different spectrum LEDs installed instead of just white and blue.
3. They come with mouthing kit than hangs on wires. Or u can diy something
4 the optics help penetrate the water better but u loose spread. Basically the lower the optics number the more spot light the led will be. No optics will give wide spread of light not as much penitration. That being said LEDs penetrate better / more then any other type of light that has been used in the aquarium hobby.
5. I don't understand what would u select? Layout?

Last the cree fixtures r not available yet so that's easy:) or :( if u wanted cree.

When I ordered mine they didn't have all the part number stuff just told then d120 and sent attached custom layout but I guess that has changes so I don't know how to help yet but will do some searching when I get extra time

I believe there r a few stock layout options? U just want white and blue? As far as arrival time well order has to be placed first. Time was only about 10 days when I got my unit but after order is placed I'm sure I will know better.

The stock layout that I saw had blue, red, green, uv, white and royal blue. I would like the full spectrum layout if that is possible. Definitely want more than just the blue and white. I don't know which website we actually ordering from so some of the layouts are different and there are three different prices on aliexpress on the d120 but they all appear to have the exact same setup.

Pricing ranges from 180-300 dollars.

Rogergolf66,

Thanks for the answers! Due to my LED ignorance:

1. Full spectrum is better because I can program exact overall color?

2. As far as I know the Bridgelux is fine. I'm not sure the difference is between that and CREE.

3. For dimmer control I should use:
Dimmer 1: 24 blue leds
Dimmer 2: 28 white leds
Dimmer 3: 3 blue moonlights

4. For full spectrum, does it matter how the LEDs are laid out? Any specific pattern? Can I control these later?

5. I definitely want the optics, which would be better for 3 it2040's over a 18W X 28D X 72L tank: 60, 90, 120?

6.Do I need to order a specific model in order to get the right optics?

Sorry for all of these questions. Just do not want to drop a large chunk of change and not be happy with them.

I found these answers:

Utilizes 60/90 degree optics to focus more light into your tank
Moon lights for lighttime viewing
Versions
IT 2040 (40cm), 55 LED’s 3W, 118-125W
IT 2060 (60cm), 55 LED’s 3W, 118-125W
IT 2080 (80cm), 99 LED’s 3W, 212-245W

Looks like I would like 3 it2060's.

I'm still trying to determine if I need to create a custom layout for the additional fee.

I assume in order to have the most flexible lighting for any possible tank inhabitants, I should get full spectrum. However, would this become a custom pattern which would result in the extra $10 fee per unit?
