chinese leds

looks like a great idea, but be aware Chinese LED's don't last the advertised 30-50k hours, I ordered 3 to replace some halogen light fixtures, and two were cool and one was warm, they were replaced by the seller and not 6 months later one is dead. I also ordered a different set from a different manufacturer in China and within a few weeks, the glass globe covering the LED's separated. the price point is great, but the QC just isn't there.

While I think we all appreciate your looking out for us, I think the primary reason we've choen this vendor is due to their reuptable history to-date with many of the RC regulars. So while it's *always* a concern, I think it's somewhat less of a concern in this particular case. Especially since we know they are using quality LED's that aren't being driven to their max (helping ensure longevity)
 
7 units paid for at this point. Deadline is up coming Monday. Goal is to place the order around noonish on Monday. Get payment in before then. I'm doing an IT2080, through swfmas. My understanding is Ron will be doing the swfmas part, then monday get the order and money over to the the tbrc guys for the order.
 
Im just anxious to get this finalized :) I did not mean to call anyone out. My tank is in desperate need of a lighting upgrade that I can afford :)
 
Is it possible to be too blue? I used the "bryan stone" layout, it's much more blue than my previous T5's on acitinic. Perhaps that is the way of LED's.
 
I was wondering how many D120s to use on a 240 gallon tank 72" X 24"? I thought each light covered 24" X 24", so 3 D120s would work. The website said to use 4 D120s for a 72" tank.
