Chloroquine Phosphate and Metronidazole ( SeaChem MetroPlex )

Long story short, my remaining fish are in a hospital tank, currently dosed with Chlorquine Phosphate. The vet has also prescribed metronidazole ( SeaChem MetroPLex ) to treat trichomonas.
She says its OK to mix the two, but after my recent experience, I want to ask those who may have actual experience if this is a good idea.

You can combine both but I don't know why you would. CP treats everything that metro does and some.

I have never heard of trichomonas infecting fish. I thought it was an std with humans. Is this a type-o?

JustinM, it's not a typo.
And yes you are correct, trichomonas is an STD in humans. However, a necropsy of my favorite former fish revealed a major infection of the bacteria.
Since the 3 remaining fish of the original 20+ shared the tank, it is safe to assume they all have it.
CP is mainly an anti-malarial, while metro has been prescribed as a tank additive as well as soaking food in it.
I appreciate your response. Up til now I've never really had to face anything other than crypto. So fish medicine is all new to me.

Well metro is safe while bound to fish food in a reef, as an additive it is not. I’m assuming all fish are in a QT now?

Yes, the remaining fish are in a 40b hospital tank. Looking better by the day actually.
The original tank was a 350 FOWLR. Thankfully, my reef is intact.
Due to all the stress they've been though lately, I may just leave them in the CP and wait to use Metroplex unless they start going downhill.

That’s a good plan. Like I said earlier, CP will treat everything Metro does and some. The only time it doesn’t is with uronema because it is recommended to treat internally as well.
