I was thinking about getting a chocolate tang to go with my powder blue for my new 4 ft 150. They are both from the same family so I'm unsure. Ofcourse they would both be added at the same time and I will have a lot of rock for hiding. I haven't seen the chocolate yet but I'm assuming it will be smaller. Powder blue is already 6 inches. Any input?

Any plans to upgrade? a powder blue tang shouldnt be in a 4 foot tank so it is iffy adding a second tang to an already aggressive and territorial fish. I personally wouldnt do it.

This is my upgrade. He already lives in a 100 gallon and doing fine. I might just leave it as a one tang system but I really want 2.

Adding them both at the same time is good, but you might be better adding the pbt after the chocolate gets established for a couple of weeks.

That can ne done since they will be both running the 150 will be going next to where the old one is so I can set it up, cycle and transfer slowly without tearing down my current display. So far my planned stock list for the new tank are the powder blue, a bi color angel, ebeli angel, 2 marooon clowns, 6 line wrasse, cleaner wrasse, a group of yellowtail damsels and maybe some other wrasses later. It will be a reef so I'm unsure if my klieni butterfly will be added to the list because he loves to chew polyups and any other soft coral and lps. My other choices for tangs are Orange sholder, kole tang, sailfin, hippo, or maybe a purple tang.

I had a 4' 150 for years. I only kept a purple tang long term. I tried a powder brown but the purple would not have it.
