Chrismas Gift with a small problem....

I just got a Tunze 6045 for x-mas and it looks like a awesome pump. However, the casings on the pump do not fit together. When I opened the box to install it, the 2 pcs of casing that cover the motor we unattached. When I try to put them together they do not fit. I can pull the front casing off with a very light pull.

Obviously this is kind of a issue. Here is my order number #
100335153.

I have been ordering from Marine Depot for years and have always received excellent service, this is the first issue I think I have had. I hope we can resolve it quickly.

Question though, why wouldnt you call them?? It is a long distance call that I had to pay for and I did buy the pump from you?

This week we are closed, I am just answering emails and handling the year end bookkeeping. MD forwarded me your info and I will send a new cover but this is usually very simple to solve. The cover is not a really tight fit, this is deliberate as we worried that people wouldn't know it could be opened for maintanence if we made the fit too tight. It should just be strong enough that you can pick up the pump by the front cover and it holds. The usual cause of this is the cover got flattened in shipping and if you look at it from the back you will see it is somewhat elliptical. You just need to squeeze it back into a round shape. We will send a new cover today.

Hi Roger,

If I pick up the pump as you said it falls apart very easily. The front cover does not at all fit.

I did not see it was damaged in any way, it just looks like it was not fitted properly. Thank you for mailing the replacement part. I hope that fixes the problem.
