Christygirl's new Leemar 180 build!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I have been so busy this last month with work. I am managing a 240,000 sf remodel for a tenant that needed to be done from start to finish in 16 weeks. Almost done. Tuesday is punch walk day.

In the mean time I have made pretty good progress. Makin the valve assemblies doing the plumbing. I got my pumps all 4 of them. I will post sometime after Tuesday. I am ready to test with water.

Then I am going to work on the sump issue.

I owe bean machine (Cody) an apology. I wanted to buy his sump but I was so swamped.

Anyway, short update.

More to come.

Well, I finally got some time off from my hectic work schedule....

The Plumbing is DONE!!!!!

I am planning to get it wet tomorrow to test the plumbing.

Here is a picture of the plumbing from the rear of the tank.

I am real happy with the way this has come out. I wanted to minimize the amount of plumbing that you actually see.... I also wanted it to look kind of like a machine.... So, All you really see is the valve handles....

On the left end, you see the 3 black flex lines..... From the left, the first is the chiller output to the top left tank return. The middle is the chiller input from the manifold. The last one on the right is the pump input that feeds the valve manifold.

If you look closely at the front picture, near the top, you will see a gray area...

That is a piece of 4in x 4in Panduit. I will be able to run my wires straight up to it and then, I will be able to run them in the panduit to the right side of the tank where all of the controls will be. This will keep a real clean look as far as wire management goes.

I am going to mount a board on the right side rear of the stand to mount the EB8's to....

All the sensitive electric equipment and dosers will go in the cabinet on the right.

Tommorrow, it gets wet.... Keeping my fingers crossed that the black flex PVC is glued properly....

More to come tomorrow....

Looking forward to starting up the DC10000....

Sorry that the pictures are grainy!

THE TANK IS WET!!!!!!!!

Filled it once. Had a leak in all 3 drain lines. I forgot I tighten the lower unions on all 3 drain lines. Boy I am an idiot some times.

Drained it.

Tightened them.

Filled it again!

Working perfectly!!!!

Looks great! I had a similar experience when trying out my new tank- leaking bulkhead. -_-

So drained the tank and tightened the bulkhead. Works perfectly now. :)

Like the hidden plumbing. Might have to do something like that when I plumb my 180
Davy. Thanks. I think it looks cool and it works. Now if I can make all of the wiring look as clean, I will be real happy !
Very clean look. Love it! What size flex are you using?
Acesq. Thanks. I am using 3/4 inch for the returns. 4 of them. I am using 1 1/2 for the drains. I am going bean animal, so, really one full drain, and one siphon. Then, one backup emergency drain.

Chris, what really sucks, is that I told myself not to forget that and I did anyway. It is working great now an let me tell you, the dc10000 is unbelievable.

Well. I screwed up. My sump does not fit. I am not sure why. I measured it with 1/8 inch to spare. I think the now in the acrylic is killing me. So. A little set back. I am going to have to order a sump.

In the meantime. I got the apex set up and the fugue light and the gfo / carbon reactor.

I had hoped to run it this weekend. NOPE.

I feel like a dope. Oh well. I will just go ahead with my sump design and do it in black to match my ATO from AA.

the thing that really sucks is that I spent south time painting my sump and setting up the drain chamber.

Looks like whoever buys my other Lee Mar will get the food sump as well.

I have pictures but I am too bummed to post tonight. Tomorrow I will post.

In the meantime, my new light should be here later this week.

Both my pumps are here an the 2 jebao are here as well.

I have 1 of the wp40 circulating the 150 gallons of RO I have in the tank. I can not believe how well the waves work.

Well, I contacted John today at AA.

I customed designed a black sump with him.

I will post pics of it when I get it.

He is one cool guy! I called Ali last night and he got me in touch with John right away.

I am hoping to get the sump on Friday afternoon!

That is service!!!!!

Maybe I will be in business by Sunday.

Going to see Solitude Saturday Morning for a couple of Items. I really hope he gets back in soon. I still think his tank is one of the best I have ever seen in person!

Thanks Randy. By chance, did you prepay John? Also when you go pick up the sump, bring a measuring tape and double check everything. Getting him to fix one of his mistakes is a nightmare.

I got my sump!!!!!!!!

It is beautiful.

It has everything I wanted.

I will post pics later on tomorrow.

I am within 5 gallons of the water I need. But, I am tired.

Good night to reef central!
