chrome browser=slow RC

i use google chrome for my browser and reefcentral runs extremely slow for me.. does anybody else have this problem? its like slower than dial up back in '99.

if i switch to internet explorer; same computer, it runs fine. what gives?

There are admitted problems, there is no (exactly this) answer but many have been asking.
The mods are aware and doing what they have to but "it's not a quick fix".

Its known, there are some big improvements coming which according to the ones in the know should make the site fly and they're being done as quickly as possible. Due to complexity and logistics they're not going to be in place overnight though.

thanks for the info Dino, I had been wondering what was going on too. Unfortunately I find the site to be basically unusable at this point. Perhaps a 'sticy' at the top by the ROTM announcement would be nice to update people as to what is going on.

Essentially, RC is getting a whole new motor.

I'm guessing there may be an announcement put up once some of the things that are being done progress just a bit further. The work that is being done will it sounds require some site downtime to implement.

In the meantime, replying to threads like this one probably gets the word out better than anything. There is a little something we've learned about stickies over the years, a good many people don't read them :lol:. For threads like this I tend to not sticky them because usually a thread moving up and down in the forum will get more views than one that is stuck at the top that most people seem to skip right over. Odd but true.
