Hi,

I have 3 chromis my 70 gallon and they have been doing great. Just fed them with a few minutes ago and noticed that one of them stole a bigger chunk on food from another fish and had trouble chewing it and couldn't get the piece out.

Went upstairs for a 2 minutes and when i came back down his was on the sand dead with he mouth wide open.

Did he chock? Is that something that can happen to a fish?

I doubt he choked. Fish breath by moving water through their mouths and over their gills. They only way for him to choke would be for the food to get lodged directly in the opening of his mouth.

That really sucks dude...so sorry to hear it.

I had a betta fish die in about 5mins when he got a pellet stuck in it's mouth. Fed him, went out to turn the sprinkler on and he was dead when I came back in.
