Chromis Mystery

I have 5 b/g chromis. Had them for 10 months now. Only minor bickering once and a while.

The last 2 weeks, one of the larger ones is hiding out in the same spot in the rocks all day. Comes out for food at every feeding, no obvious trauma or anything. It (he/she?) defends the spot from everyone in the tank.

Any idea why this behavior has suddenly started? I thought maybe eggs or something, but if that's the case, she hid them well.

Thanks

Sure sounds like a nest to me. I'm not sure how chromis spawn but in the closely related yellowtail blue damsels they find a little cave and lay eggs in there. The eggs are very hard to see and the only way I know they are there is my female becomes very site territorial and attacks anything that gets too close. That would be my first guess.
