Anybody know why these fish seem to not last long? I've lost two chromic and two cardinals. The chromic were about a month old and the cardinals about two weeks... All my other fish are healthy as can be. Just weird...
Its not uncommen to have a hard time getting either of these fish to acclimate and make it when u have other fish already in the tank they r put in the chromis i have heard that theres been some sort of parasite or desease that has been on alot of these fish lately so ur not the only person that has had a hard time with them . The cardinals r hit or miss when u buy them from a store cuz theyr useally wild caught and they dont do well when braught in captivaty. If u wanna keep some of these cardinals find someone who has been breeding and raising them and has healthy ones for sale . Pm me and ill point u in the right direction to get some healthy cardinals that will do well for u .
its very common, when I plan on adding any of these fish to a system, and if I want a school of 5,I always add 7-8 fish,so when the fish die, competition,I should end up with 5 in a school.....
Once the chromis are established, they will live for a long time. It's definitely common for a group of 7 to become 5 or less; however, once there is an established group they will live long. Once there is an established group it goes without saying that adding more most likely not prove successful.
