Cinnamon Clown meets Rock/Flower Anemone

Krazy

In Memoriam
Well my Cinnamon clown has finally started to notice my rock/flower anemone, the anemone is a year old and the clown has been in the tank about 6 months... The past 3 days shes been going near it, a quick pass through it, now shes rubbing on it, wiggleing in it, and she likes to hang out under the disc as he stretches for the light... I will snag pics later, I was shocked to see this as everyone says they dont host them !!

Now I dont need to get a GBTA !!!!

:D

Here's a couple pictures of her under the disc "shes falling in love"

haha! I will get pictures later of her in the disc loving it up, this is quite crazy to me as everyone has said they wouldnt host this type of anemone, when I had the GBTA she found that within a half hr, this guy's been in her sight for 6 months...

Very nice pics, it really is cool to watch clowns and their anemones. I had a Domino Damsel once that hosted in a Condi that was pretty cool.

Here's a few more pics of her loving up in the disc of the rock anemone :D

I guess anything's possible !!!

Looks like a snakelock anemone Anemonia viridis, an Atlantic specimin often found in temperate waters (could be wrong on the ID). Amazing a cinnamon hosted in that. Very cool! Im jealous, an easy anemone to keep actually hosting a clown - now that is rare!

It is defiently a rock/flower anemone (Epicystis crucifer)

do a google on the snakelock you mentioned and my rock anemone, you'll see the differences in the two...

Yeah its very cool as these anemones are super hardy, I kept him alive and growing under 265watts of pc for about 11 months, He's been under 500watts of 10k halides and 2x96 antics now...

The clown just found him in the past week, day by day she got more daring, doing a quick sweep through it, a nibble here/there, sleeping under the disc, now shes in and out of it all day...

I'm happy as hell because these guys next to never move and I wont have to get a gbta or rbta !!!

:)

Time tells all !!!

Just for personal knowledge, why would it be odd for the two not to get along, or one host the other? Isn't it common for anemones and clowns to do this?

Its just odd because the sting of these anemones is very strong and most fish cannot either take it or just choose not to host these anemones, I'm thinking because of the size of both of them she took to it, she used to have a GBTA to host but it got sick and I had to remove it, maybe 2 months after she had found this guy !!

:D

PS: 9/17/06 shes still hosting it and the anemone I think is used to it now as well which is a good thing, he still eats those silver sides like they went outta style

Not mine but this clown pretty much stayed under the anemone when I saw it. Not sure if it ever went inside.
