I am using Tunze Streams (two 6100's and a multicontroller) for the major circulation in my tank (37" deep). The return from the sump is an Eheim 1262, which is just enough for the sump, skimmer and fuge. Seems to work just fine.
I run an OM4way with revolutions plumbed through the top of the tank and return with a hammerhead. The OM4way is on CL with a dart. I also run 3 tunez 6025 nano's (soon to be swapped with Hydor 1200gph) running from end to end.
1 of the tunze is up top in the center, the other 2 are kinda low on each of the sides.
BTW it is a Peninsula tank so all the tunze are on one end.
i have 2 closed loops on my 30" tall tank. the closed loops are the OM 4 ways using a dart for a pump. the first loop is plumbed into the top bracing, while the other loop is plumbed through the bottom of the tank.
Dart for return up and over the back of the tank pointing towards each end.
1 C/L run by a Hammerhead that also feeds a inline swimming pool canister filter. Inputs on eitehr side of the center overflow. Returns are thru the bottom of teh tank, 2' in from each end. I have a large rock pile on top of them to hide them.
1 C/L run by a Barracuda on a OM 4 way. 2 returns come in from the right end of the tank, just below the water line. Other two returns come in on the left end just above the sand bed and have 45 degree elbows on them to point up slightly.
This setup gives me a lot of random flow w/ minimal dead spots. I actually have water flowing first in a CW direction and then it reverses to a CCW direction thanks to the OM 4 way. Fish seem to love it and I find them playing in the flow at times.
I haven't updated my thread lately with any pic's of the setup. Sorry.
