Cirrhilbraus Claire

i cant stop showing this picture and telling this story to all my friends and none of them are even into sw. such a great fish, makes the earls im getting seem drab.jk but seriously though awesome fish. Olive is the new red. what temp is the pair being kept at, does anyone know?rufus? lemon?

hi.

BlueHarbor did not mention what temperature they're keeping them at, but based on past deepwater imports, my guess would be around 68F or 20 degrees celcius.

again, that's just a speculation.

Nice! Thanks lemon! Have you seen this fish in person or only in photos?

oh no. it's all the way in Japan and i live in Singapore.

Dr. Hiroyuki Tanaka contacted me and he was excited since it's in Japan and he hoped to see and take some pictures of it. I would like to see as many videos and pictures taken for C. claire. it's very unique. not so much full on obvious pretty in the kind of way that many people would hope for it to be, but it's more of an intrinsic thing and i like it very much.

as mentioned in the article this is the first time pictures of C. claire has made available to the general public and internet goers. I do believe there are some private pictures of them in the wild by people who collected it for research though.

exciting stuff :lmao:

Lemon Im with you very exciting!! I cannot believe I was even offered them before blue harbor..just must have been the jedi wrasse sense. But seriously I think this is a beautiful fish but then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder. not to mention there is nothing like it except maybe a rhom. fairy.I really hope that any photos of the fish make its way onto this thread, as a documentary of this historic pair. Feel free to share any photos anybody has of this elusive Cirrhilbraus!

if i do find anymore pics i'll post it here.

i'm not sure what species it's most closely related to. maybe Richard Pyle knows. the coloration in the blueharbor photo is abit cool, it should be warmed up slightly due to the actinic lighting. it may be more lavender-pink in real life.
