Cirrhitichthys aureus (Yellow hawkfish)

Does anyone have any information on this fish?
I have an opportunity to acquire one.
It's about 2" and looks like this.

I have never seen one of those before. I would definitely jump on it as long as it is compatiable with your current livestock.

I've seen one about 3 years ago wholesale. If I remember correctly, it was very pricey.

BTW naka, I have a piece of that magenta colored gorgonia that your picture is showing. It's photosynthetic, moderate grower. It came as a hitchicker on the base of a leather coral that I found at the LFS. Bought the coral, took the gorgonia off, then gave them back the coral for free.

Cirrhitichthys aureus is an interesting species. AFAIK, it is the only Cirrhitid that is a simultaneous true hermaphrodite (both male and female all at once). They feed on smaller fish, as well as the typical crustacean fare--relatively hardy like other hawkfish as well. Oh, and Project Reef's Cirrhitid is Paracirrhites xanthus--a smaller and more behaved species than the other one.
